This free tool fixes the orientation of your images. Use it when a photo comes out sideways or upside down, when a scanned document needs turning, or when you want a mirrored version of an image — for example, to make a portrait face the other way in a layout.
Everything runs entirely inside your browser. Your images are never uploaded to a server, so your files stay private and the changes happen instantly, even offline.
Rotating turns the image around its center, like spinning a photo on a table. A 90° rotation swaps the width and height, so a landscape photo becomes portrait. Flipping mirrors the image instead — the dimensions stay the same, but left and right (or top and bottom) are reversed, as if you were looking at it in a mirror.
Once the orientation is right, you can adjust the framing with the Image Crop tool, set exact dimensions with Image Resize, or shrink the file with our JPEG compressor.
Yes. Press the rotate button twice — each press turns the image 90°, so two presses give you 180° and three give you 270°.
Phones and cameras record an orientation tag in the file rather than physically rotating the pixels. Some apps ignore that tag, so the photo appears rotated. Turning it here bakes the correct orientation into the image itself.
Rotating in 90° steps and flipping simply rearrange the existing pixels, so there's no meaningful loss of detail.
