About the HEIC Format

HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is the format Apple has used for iPhone photos since iOS 11. It stores images at roughly half the file size of a JPEG at similar quality, which saves a lot of space on your phone. The trade-off is compatibility: many non-Apple devices, apps, and websites still don't support it.
